Neneh burst onto the music scene with 1989's Raw Like Sushi, featuring the genre-busting Buffalo Stance, which she famously performed on Top of the Pops while seven months pregnant, and the dreamy Manchild.
She returned in 2014 with the critically acclaimed Blank Project, her first solo album in 18 years. In the interim she kept busy, collaborating with trip-hop band CirKus and Swedish/Norwegian free improv trio The Thing, as well as providing vocals to tracks by Gorillaz, Kleerup and brother Eagle-Eye Cherry among others.
Neneh's also well known for her 1994 collaboration 7 Seconds with world music star Youssou N'Door, and teamed up with Cher, Chrissie Hynde and Eric Clapton for 1995's No.1 single Love Can Build A Bridge.
She joined 6 Music in December 2014 as one of our Three Wise Women, presenting a show featuring music from the likes of Parliament, The Slits, Cat Power and Four Tet, and curating an evening's schedule.
