Sun 22 Feb 2015 Concourse, Sage Gateshead
Wild At Heart

Back with a new album later in 2015, The Maccabees are set to treat the 6 Music Festival audience to some fresh songs alongside classics from their previous three albums.

They first came to attention with 2007’s Colour It In LP. 2012's Given to the Wild became their most successful album to date, reaching No. 4 in the album charts and scoring a Mercury Prize nomination.

The band searched for a name by picking books off the shelf, flicking through pages and pointing to names. The Maccabees came about when they did this using a Bible, although the band later admitted none of them are religious.

There'll be plenty of fans worshiping at their feet as they headline the Concourse on Sunday evening at the conclusion of this year's festival.
