An Enthralling Performance

Mercury-nominated for Kate Tempest is a poet, spoken word artist and playwright from Brockley, South East London.

Her first performance was at a spoken word club in Carnaby Street at the age of 16 which led to her supporting the likes of Billy Bragg, and Scroobius Pip. Inspired by Samuel Beckett and the Wu-Tang Clang, she won the Ted Hughes Award for Brand New Ancients in 2013 and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize for 2014's Everybody Down.

-------------------------------------------

Born into the most respected family in English Folk music, it was no surprise that Eliza followed her parents Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson into the family business.

She's the winner of more than 5 Radio 2 Folk Awards and has twice been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

Eliza and Kate will perform together at this year's 6 Music Festival. Expect one of the most eclectic and enthralling performances of the weekend.
