The ´óÏó´«Ã½ National Orchestra of Wales makes a welcome return to Marlborough College as part of the College’s professional concert series. The concert takes place in the College’s spectacular, newly refurbished Memorial Hall, which is dedicated to the 749 Marlburians who lost their lives in the Great War. The programme is, in part, a salute to them and to the renovation, and includes Beethoven’s Consecration of the House, a haunting elegy by F S Kelly dedicated to Rupert Brooke, and Ravel’s exquisite Tombeau de Couperin. Further interest to the programme is provided with a performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Amatis Trio as soloists, who are ´óÏó´«Ã½ New Generation artists.
