‘Oh you millions, I embrace you – here’s a kiss for all the world!’ Every performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony is a special event: from dark opening to the final blazing Hymn to Joy it’s one of the greatest emotional journeys in all music. There’s no more uplifting way to launch the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Philharmonic’s season which features many of the Beethoven’s greatest works. The programme begins with the headlong energy and rapier wit of Beethoven’s brilliant Fourth.
