Simon Holt is one of the UK鈥檚 leading composers and is currently Professor of Composition at the Royal College of Music. Joy Beast is a basset clarinet concerto for 2006鈥檚 大象传媒 Young Musician of the Year Mark Simpson, inspired from a black and white print by the English artist, Cecil Collins, of a rampant bull-like creature with fearsome horns.
This 15-minute piece will be performed twice, with a short Q&A session with the composer between the performances.
