Sharleen Spiteri and Johnny McElhone founded Texas in 1986 after being inspired by Paris, Texas - a film released two years previously.
Their debut album Southside was released in 1989 and reached number three in the UK charts, but it wasn鈥檛 until the release of White on Blonde in 1997 that people really stood up and took notice, with the alternative rock album charting at number one.
Since then they have released a Greatest Hits plus Spiteri has released solo material, however this year they return to the airwaves with 9th album The Conversation. Time to start talking about Texas.
