About This Event
Something for everyone in tonight's Friday Night is Music Night! Stephen Sondheim’s showstopping overture rings up the curtain as singer Kathryn Rudge, conductor Martin Yates and the full ´óÏó´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra come to St Albans.
There’ll be English dances and French songs; exotic beauties and elegant dandies; movie themes and classical favourites – plus bees, wasps and mosquitoes like you’ve never heard them before.
Don’t worry, though: they don’t sting and they know some cracking melodies – as does composer Dobrinka Tabakova, who wrote Orpheus’s Comet specially for the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra. With orchestral favourites by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Alexander Borodin, Percy Grainger and Ron Goodwin (633 Squadron), she’s in great company tonight. And so are you, because Friday night is music night, and that means hit after hit after hit. Petroc Trelawny is your host for an evening of unforgettable tunes.
Tickets for this show are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. If successful, we notify you by text message and send your e-ticket(s) to your email address. If unsuccessful you will be kept on the waiting list in case anyone cancels their tickets.
