On the anniversary of Olivier Messiaen鈥檚 birth, organist Ashley Grote play鈥檚 Messiaen鈥檚 festive masterpiece, La Nativit茅 du Seigneur.

The nine meditations on Christ鈥檚 Nativity were written as a celebration of the motherhood of the Virgin Mary, the figure nine chosen to represent the nine months of pregnancy. Each movement serves as a musical commentary on a different aspect of the Christmas story, before which the 大象传媒 Singers perform a piece of thematicallyl linked choral music.
