Prom 7: Shostakovich, Bart贸k & Tavener

Shostakovich鈥檚 Tenth Symphony 鈥� a violent portrait of the horrors of Stalin鈥檚 Russia 鈥� is the centrepiece of this concert from the 大象传媒 Symphony Orchestra and Ji艡铆 B臎lohl谩vek. They are joined by German violinist Isabelle Faust for Bart贸k鈥檚 folk-inflected Second Violin Concerto, and the concert opens with the first of this summer鈥檚 two posthumous premieres by John Tavener.
