Kaiser Chiefs
Fri 27 Jun 2014 John Peel Stage
Back in the limelight

When Kaiser Chiefs’ frontman Ricky Wilson signed up for as a judge on The Voice, he made no secret that he was doing it for the good of his band. He wanted to get the Chiefs back on the map and selling more records. True to his word, the band hit No. 1 with their album Education, Education, Education & War in April and now return to Glastonbury to headline the John Peel Stage.

It’s great to have them back. After three huge albums in the 2000s, the Leeds’ band took a hiatus with Education, Education... only their second album in six years. Their boldness and loyalty to rabble rousing indie remains in place and feels as relevant as ever. And in Ricky Wilson, they possess one of the best in the business at feeding from festival fever and returning it with interest!
