Chief Conductor, Sofi Jeannin and the 大象传媒 Singers showcase some of the most exciting Choral music of the last 100 years in a programme that ranges from Gershwin to Abba, Francis Poulenc to Laura Mvula.
At the centre of their concert is Poulenc鈥檚 Figure humaine 鈥� a truly extraordinary, magnificent choral masterpiece written at the height of the Second World War and premiered by the 大象传媒 Singers. It sits alongside works by fellow French composer Maurice Durufl茅, and the Choral Dances from Benjamin Britten鈥檚 opera Gloriana.
The second half of their programme is dedicated to the lighter side of the 大象传媒 Singers鈥� repertoire and includes Sing to the Moon by the renowned artist Laura Mvula, herself a featured composer in the 2018 大象传媒 Proms. The 大象传媒 Singers end their programme with choral arrangements of ABBA and the iconic satirical writing of Michael Flanders and Donald Swann. We are delighted to be joined for part of this programme by choristers from local schools
