Royal Blood seemed to come out of nowhere in 2013. Formed in Brighton, the rock duo of Mike Kerr on bass and vocals and Ben Thatcher on drums has taken the UK rock scene by storm.
Their debut single “Out of the Black” has seen the pair gain a passionate fan following as well as industry backing from regular Radio 1 airplay amd NME front cover. They also featured on the influential ý Sound of 2014 List.
Obvious influences include fellow duos The White Stripes and Death from Above 1979: Royal Blood create a big, dirty, garagey sound that belies their two man line-up.
Despite not having a single album to their name, Royal Blood seem destined for big things in 2014, riding a wave of hype and publicity that is at fever pitch. Rock on.
