P.A.R.A.D.E
Over a hundred years on from the Paris premiere of Ballet Russes’ momentous Parade, National Dance Company Wales, ´óÏó´«Ã½ National Orchestra of Wales and Marc Rees present a large-scale re-staging of this extraordinary ballet.
Mixing politics, dance, history, art, graffiti, sculpture, circus, film and music, P.A.R.A.D.E. will not only be an unprecedented spectacle – a feast for the senses – but a reflection on Wales’ own modern history and its current political landscape. Audiences will be swept into the foyer, passing aerial acrobatics, soundscapes and installations before settling in the auditorium to watch National Dance Company Wales’ modern reimagining of Parade with live music from ´óÏó´«Ã½ NOW.
P.A.R.A.D.E is part of the Russia ’17 season that marks the centenary of the Russian revolution with a range of events which capture the social and cultural explosion of the era and Wales’ historic connections with the Russia of the time. R17.wales
