Childhood friends, Alex Nash, Hamish Kay and Jamie Roberts formed The Hearts last year in their hometown of Newport, South Wales.
Their distinctive gritty, yet anthemic songwriting is backed by a real sense of determination and DIY spirit. The trio shot their first music video for ‘Lips’ in a kitchen, costing a mere £50 and resulting in over 20,000 views online. The same track was the first the band uploaded to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing and immediately caught the attention of both Bethan Elfyn and Adam Walton at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Wales. Huw Stephens is also a big fan, along with a whole host of other taste makers, who are helping to raise the band’s profile.
With a highly anticipated 16 date UK tour scheduled for May, The Hearts are stepping up their fierce dedication to playing live. Big Weekend will mark a significant moment for them, as they begin to breakthrough onto the UK’s indie rock scene in a major way.
