Four ex-music technology students from Stafford University, Editors have mastered the art of intense indie rock. Delighting critics and fans alight, the band were nominated for a Mercury Music Prize in 2006 for debut studio album The Back Room.
Managing to make dystopian gloom sound exciting with fierce synths and foreboding vocals, the band have recently been in Nashville recording fourth album. Talking in the NME, Smith described the songs as drawing inspiration from REM and Arcade Fire and being ultimately "more straightforward than our last album. That was more experimental, whereas the new songs could be played on an acoustic guitar. I don't know what a hit is any more, but these songs feel very classic and immediate".
With their last Reading and Leeds performance back in 2008, Editors are back with their picturesque rock to remind us of what we've been missing.
