Gershwin’s irrepressibly jazzy An American in Paris and Messiaen’s by turns hypnotic and orgiastic Turangalîla Symphony come together in this musical celebration of Paris. Pianist Angela Hewitt and ondes martenot player Cynthia Millar join the ´óÏó´«Ã½ SO.

Karina Canellakis directs the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra in two Russian classics: Rachmaninov’s exhilarating Symphonic Dances and Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto, with Alisa Weilerstein as soloist. Beethoven’s spirited overture Coriolan opens the concert.
