听 The failure of "Rambo III" to light up the US box office shackles the movie with failure. Yet in terms of stunts and fierce action, this sequel is blatantly outrageous in its scale and this certainly shows on the new DVD release.
Richard Crenna may have been going a little far when he suggested that this instalment was literally "Rambo of Arabia". But there's no denying that there are many fine set pieces, complemented by sweeping cinematography that's suitably vivid in a sharp widescreen transfer to DVD.
The sound comes in a 2.0 mix that makes the most of the helicopter effects in the movie but lacks the explosive power that a sub woofer channel would have added.
The extra features are again made up of promotional footage, although there's less on offer than on the "Rambo: First Blood Part II" disc. The 'behind the scenes' featurettes offer some good shots of Sly charging through the types of real explosions that CGI now take care of. And the 'making of' contains a very brief interview with veteran stunt master Vic Armstrong who is also responsible for films like "Tomorrow Never Dies".
