Shasta daisies bear large white, daisy flowers, some traditional varieties growing up to 90cm (3ft) tall. 'Snowcap' is an excellent, compact variety that does not lose the character of the original tall plants, and has even more flowers. Each bloom is 10cm (4in) across. Team them with herbaceous perennials such as Lychnis coronaria, scabious or pinks for a cottage garden combination, or use them with silver or grey foliage such as artemisia and gypsophila for a more sophisticated association.
