In the village of Newick in sussex during the war there were alot of canadion forces passing through they would visit the public houses of which there were four One of them was the Bull on the village green my twin sister Rita and i used to sing to them for there mayple leaf badges they made friends with the village people One christmas day my mum invited one of them to christmas dinner it was the start of a special friendship with a canadoin mother to our suprise a big parcil arrived from canada full of things we couldnt get in this country during the war like tea bags with strings on them craft cheese wedges sweets olives beutifull mocasin slippers for my sister and i two lovley dolls it was a thankyou for my mum giving her son a christmas dinner we were still getting these up untill 1947 when my dad died the candion family wanted us to go and live in canada but mum wouldnt we somehow lost touch but up untill this day we are still trying to find them again no luck yet but we will keep trying
