I was Living In Wandsworth, and I was 11 years old in 1942,We used to go to School
just half day then, In the afternoon I was
look-out for the flying bombs V1s to warn
the neighbours if one was coming by shouting, an air raid had been on most of
the day and my Mother and sisters were still down the Anderson Shelter in the
garden.I had seen a few V1s that day ,
Then I heard a noise of rushing air I look
up and from over the roof behind me I saw
this V1 it was so low I could see the
marking on the wings,it glided on for
about quarter mile then it hit the ground
and exploded. After that we all stayed in
the shelter the rest of the day and all
night
