The Lacock copy of the Magna Carta was concealed in the area - I won't say where - and my father was party to the hiding of the Magna Carta to keep it from Hitler, if he invaded. My father was the guide because the house was not open to the public except the monastic parts. He would show people around and I, at the age of 11, would occasionally because I followed him around so many times if there happen to be a large crowd on a summer's afternoon my mother would say could you take this party of people around which I did, just telling them the same sort of things that he told them. He was a very popular guide.
