At the outbreak of the war my father Tommy enlisted into the army, but before leaving his home town he had his few remaining teeth extracted as they were giving him pain.
Unfortunately he had to leave before his dentures were ready, leaving him "toothless".
Luckily for him there was no sirloin steak on the menu in the mess hall - Bully Beef was easy to chew.
When the dentures were ready my mother, Florrie, duly posted the "parcel" to his barracks in the UK. However, by this time he had been posted on, consequently my fathers "teeth" were posted on and on and on, until some years later when he was stationed in Iceland the "teeth" eventually caught up with him.
One day he was handed "a wee brown parcel" (his own words)and guess what he found on opening it?
You're right!
HIS TEETH!!
By this time they did not fit properly, so my father bravely fought the enemy toothless.
