I was about 8 years old and we were living in Tuffley, Gloucester. I went home from Whaddon School about 3.30pm. The German planes would be going over and the scrapnel
from the guns were falling all around us so we would have to go to someone elses house. On the one day an allied bomber, who was damaged, was coming back to the airfield. It just missed one School and crashed into a field, just before the bridge in Grange Road.
