Rober McGlashan was a student on our farm Nancarrow at Marazanvose. We had a great time together and were like brothers, he'd make bows and arrows with me.
When war broke out he left to eventually became a bomber pilot in the RAF flying with Wellington bombers. he was involved in many raids and we heard he even made his crew bail out to safety on one mission, fortunately he was alright on that occasion.
When news came he was missing in action it affected us all badly. Especially my mother who he had taken to calling mum.
I named my son after him.
