My story is very simple, I grew up during the war with my baby sister, father, and mother in Great Malvern. Airraid shelters were used to play in with the rest of the local kids, in the area called The Triangle. But from Malvern we could see the lights from the bombing at Birmingham and Coventry. My father grew a lot of vegetables in the garden. I can remember my father growing parsnips when potatoes were in short supply. We ate the potatoes, Mum and Dad ate the parsnips. Mum creamed off the top of the milk and put the cream into a Kilner jar. I had to shake this until butter was made.
