I was stationed for a while out in the woods near Newcastle. There were several woods in the area. I decided to go for a stroll, when I spotted a Ferret running around. I got hold of it by the scruff of the neck and took it back to camp. (My intention was to catch rabbits for the cook house, with the use of the ferret.) I made a box to keep the ferret in. Shortly afterwards we moved camp. I transported the ferret in the back of my lorry. When the army lads climbed in the back of the lorry, they didn't like the ferret being there at all. One day when we were moving down south, one of the lads pushed the ferret over the tail board of the lorry. I let crack with my fist and the lad fell half way over the tail board, just in time I pulled him back. However it all blew over quickly and we all forgot about the incident.
