"This story was submitted to the People's War site by a volunteer from csvgloucester on behalf of Yvonne from Cheltenham and has been added to the site with her permission. Yvonne fully understands the site's terms and conditions"

Bombing of Dunalley Parade - was early in the morning, when people were just getting up. I was about 5 years old and living with my Grandparents in Courtney Street(15),we heard the Siren go, and rushed into the cellar - but Gran was rather slow, so we shouted up the stairs for her to come down quickly, as we might get bombed - well, just as she made it to the bottom, a piece of debris hit the house and the chimney collapsed onto her bed - so we were lucky - not so Dunalley Parade.
