I was leaving my home in Catherine Street, Cambridge, I can鈥檛 remember if I was going to work or out shopping, I was 19 years old.
I had just closed the back door when there was a tremendous bang and the house shook. My mother came to the door to find me sitting on the ground. We later learned that the Bridge which crosses the railway on Mill Road had been targeted and a bomb had hit some houses and part of the bridge. Some people were killed although I cannot remember how many. I was very scared to go out for a while afterwards because we hadn鈥檛 thought that bombs would drop so close to us.
