Uncle Alf on leave in Rome after Anzio 24 March 1944
This year, 2005, I have inherited the 5 Medals and one bar, awarded to my Uncle Alf during the Second World War.
These are:-
The 1939-45 Star
The Africa Star and 1st Army Bar
The Italy Star
The Defence Medal
The War Medal
Uncle Alf, L/Cpl.J.A.Blomiley (24 Gds. Bde.) never spoke about any of his war experiences, for reasons best known to him.
As well as his ,medals I have also aquired several Photos taken in Tunsia in 1943, and Anzio in 1944.
If anyone else was in his Brigade or has any information I would love to hear about this.
I cannot ask Uncle Alf about these experiences, but I have had a great insight from watching 'The Peoples War' thank-you.
