It all bagan in 1940 when the Manchester Blizts happened. It was on December 21st the longest night of the year which on this perticular was a very long and frightening night for Dorothy. There were so many noises when this attack happened. The attack happened in manchester and Dorothy lives in lancester which is 4 miles out of manchester, bombs landed in that town to. One bomb was so close that it actually belew her dad up the stairs. people use to leave the front door open a fraction so that it would take some of the impact of the bomb if it use to drop near a house. Her mum, dad, brother and her self all got under the bed this is because if some objets use to fall then they would have the safty of the bed covering them. Through the caps of the doors you could see an amazing but scary glow, this was because you could see Manchester being blown up and the fire blaze the bombs left behind.some times people new when the bombs were going to drop because they use to make a screaming noise in the air and when you heard the screaming stop you new the bomb was going to drop this was one of the most scary bombs because all you had to do is just wait for the screaming to stop and just pray it weren't near your home. The folowing morning when all the bombing had stopped every thing went back to normal. The children when to school and the adults went to work as nothing had changed even tho all around there was nothing left, lots of biuldings were damaged factorys and shops and every one just help every one it was like every one had forgotten if they don't like some one and just got together as a nation. The fire was the second largest fire in England from the fire of london. And even now Dorothy finds it hard to forgive the people who had done this to her family and friends.
