Bomb Fall In Garlinge

Alf and Bert would go from Garlinge tothe \Margate Gas Works. On the way they would pass the allotments in Hartsdown Road. This particular day they saw an german aircraft in the sky being chased by a hurricane. Alf and Bert saw the german plane drop it's bomb and it hit a house with a cloud of dust. Alf was no more than five hundred yards away, the blast picked him up and threw him headfirst into a handbarrow. Bert was blown against a cottage door. The boys picked themselves up dusted tehmaselves down and carried on their way.
