When I was 2 an evacuee from London called David Langdon, stayed in Acacia Road in Bedford.He was a cartoonist for a paper at the time. Anyway, he spent his 21st birthday with us in our house. His mother and sister, stayed over the road.

My father didn't go to war but was a home guard, he worked at WH Allens in Queenspark as a draftsman, but unfortunetly he was sent a white feather anomously. A white feather was sent to people who were said to be cowards. This was horrible at the time for me and my family
