My grandmother, Fanny Louisa Marshallsay had a farm in Studland, Dorset. The family had been in farming for 100 years. She had 9 children. Being near the coast, a German plane crashed near the farm. My grandmother fetched her husband's shotgun and held up the two Germans on the plane. This was reported in the local press. The sad ending to teh story was that when the plane was removed by 2 English workmen it hit the overhead electric cable - killing them both.
