KO-V 115 Sqdrn Stanley Stephen. RAF Witchford May 1945
This is not my story but that of my late uncle's, Stanley Stephen.
Stanley survived the war as Aerial Bombardier on Lancs - 115 Squadron. But, uniquely, like the whole of Bomber Command, with no campaign medal. After the war he went on to spend his gratuity and study at the Glasgow School of Art. A most civilised accomplishment.
I can be as certain as I can, that without Stan's efforts and those of his crew, Bomber Command, Fighter Command and all the other services of the Allies, I would not have been brought up in a land of peace and opportunity.
God bless you Stevie. Still missed after all these years.
Your Nephew, Loz.
