My first job after leaving school age 14 I worked in wineding at henry ewins box making from there went on to bus station where I met and fell in love with my husband, I was 18 at the time and the war was still on, we went on to have 4 children, I had my first in hospital.
Kids behaved better then more than they do now. I had a sister who was older we were at home together.
I remember the shelters we'd run into them when the sirens went. I remember one getting blown up with all people in it. It was on Walker Street - there was a lot of people in it.
We had a happy time, we'd have a long rope and skip with it.
