On arriving in India in 1943 I was posted to RAF 82 Squadron, 1944 was when we went on Active Service in the India-Burma Campaign against Japan.
The air base was in Assam placed in the tea estates. We went to other RAF units before VJ Day and then moved on to Malaya. I was in the Far East for three years before coming home.
