When we left Bombay our battery became part of an Indian Division that was going to Iraq. The story we heard was that we were on our way to help/persuade Turkey to become an ally. We made our way along the West coast of Lebanon and Syria as far as Aleppo. On the way we changed the Division logo to three different types to give the impression that we were at least 3 Divisions larger then we were. It seemed to work, because from our forward observation post at the top of the Cedar mountains we looked into Turkey and we saw no sign of movement at all. Just for once it was a case of relax.
