Patricia in 1939 was 18 months old and with her family went on holiday to Chapel St Leonards to stay in Kenway Bungalow.
The day after they arrived war was declared. The local policeman visited them and informed patricia's dad to sound his car horn if there was any problems.
Luckily the cottage was not affected by the war and it is still there today.
