While serving as a Telegraphist on HMS RAJAH for two years ferrying American aircraft from San Diego to Guam via Pearl Harbour I also swam in Mary Pickfords pool and met Joan Fontaine during a weeks leave.
Some years ago I had the pleasure of meeting PO Potts Patrick the Petty Officer in charge of the wireless room and Gordon Tucker the captains writer. Some of my papers and photos of Rajah with crashed aircraft doing deck landing trials etc are in the Liddell Hart War Museum at Kings College London. I finished my service as a Leading Telegraphist in the Admiralty Radio Station with the Shore W/T Service.
