How old where you when war broke out?

I was 5 years old.

What did you do when the German bombers came over your house?

I hid under the table.

Why did an Italian man come over to your house?

To dig the garden because he was a prisoner of war.

What was it like at home?

We had to black out the windows.

How old where you when war ended?

I was 11 years old.
