A story written up by Karen in the 大象传媒 Open Centre Hull

A local greengrocer Mr Bradbrook would occasionally get a consignment of bananas in (this was at the start of the war) the word would spread 鈥 鈥淏radbrooks have got bananas鈥 and suddenly there would be this long queue on Anlaby Road near Wheeler Street gates, i.e. where the train level crossing used to be. But each person in the queue would be allowed only ONE banana.
