As I am almost 90 and unable to use a computer or write I am having someone do it for me.
I have watched many war programmes but have not seen in any of them about the anti-aircraft guns in action. My husband was a TA and so had 6 years on anti-aircraft losing half his crew to abomb. He was defending Dover at first, using no more than a pitch- fork or broken bottles!
Then he was in the London Blitz all through and went on to Coventry. So I feel their story should be told. I was in a meal canteen taking tea and sandwiches to the ARP and the poor people they were rescueing, some dead. So not a very pleasant job but very satisfying. I really feel we both spent all the war years doing what we could and being in the midst of war.
Please show soemthing about the anti-aircraft groups and the mobile canteens in your films. Thanking you.
