I was born in the year of 1938 december 13th.
I was born with club feet so was put into hospital this hospital was just three miles from Northlolt airadrome.
We could see the planes taking off at noght and would count them out and back this way we knew how many were lost.
Many airmen were brought in for treatment some had bad burns others had broken bones.
As the years went by we had three hits on the hospital by bombs one hit the church and one hit the chicken runs the other fell in the woods at the back of the hospital.
The one that hit the church throw a big lump of stone into the air and it landed on the roof of the warn i was in making a big hole but lucky for us no one was hurt.
the one that dropped on the chicken run set fire to a hen house.
This had its funny side as two men that were fire wardens were called Jack and Peter crockrel the matron had to send in a report she wrote a hen house was set on fire by a bomb but the fire was quickly put out by the crockrels she got a replay back telling her there was a war on and not to try and make jokes.
The other was in the woods at the back of the hospital and only made a big hole.
We had our own sheltter and some nights we went into and out of it so many times sleep was imposssable.
One very well known person to be treated in our hospital was dougles barder.
