鈥淲hen the bombing started in September 1940, we moved to Bromley, Kent. We shared a house with an aunt and uncle where we could reinforce the cellar to sleep in when the bombing was bad鈥
鈥淚 experienced some bombing, and in September 1940, an aunt was bombed out and died later as a consequence of this.鈥
鈥淣eighbouring houses were bombed and people killed. I particularly remember a senior girl at school being killed when fire watching the parish church.鈥
鈥淎 local labourer insisted on sawing up a tree which a bomb had felled across the road as he thought it was dangerous for the traffic-this was while the bombing was going on!鈥
