So the years passed. One spring my sister warned me not to wash the living room curtains as they would fall apart, but being big headed I did wash them and she was right! We still didn鈥檛 have the modern conveniences, and had to beat the carpets on the grass or clothesline, when the dust rose like autumn mist! I managed to get some new curtains out of that episode, so some good came out of it! One day some Gypsies called selling lino, or a cheap imitation of it, and after they had gone I remarked to my Dad that the piece they had showed me would look good in my brother鈥檚 bedroom and he actually agreed to buy the piece. It was very poor quality!
