Rationing didn鈥檛 come into effect until 1941, at which stage we left London and came to Leicester. I was taken to see evidence of bombing at the pavilion on Victoria Park, and heard that there was some at Humberstone that the Germans needed to dispose of on their way home.
But, I did not see any bombs dropped, but we did have air raid warnings while in Leicester.
Leicester appeared very quiet as compared to London regarding bombing in the war.
