William Ewart Sutcliffe, No 4 Radio School, RAF Madeley, Hereford, 24/08/1943 to 28/09/1943
The following account is best to put into context by reading my story listed under: Irene M M Sutcliffe:
My future husband Bill was selected as aircrew and posted to RAF Madeley in Hereford (which would later become regimental HQ to the SAS). At No 4 Radio School Madeley he flew in Dominie and Proctor aircraft from 24/08/1943 to 28/09/1943 while training to operate radio equipment. I am unsure what the white flash on his hat shown in the accompanying photograph signified.
