During the war my Gran and her family had evacuees staying at her parents home, they were sisters who had come down from belfast. The Army also stayed there as their house was near the Aghadowey Air Drome and the River bann. The soldiers loved to get to milk the cows on the farm and eat the fresh frys that my Great-Gran made to some of them they would also have got warm water tro wash in if they were lucky. My gran and her family nwere lucky because they were given some sweets by the army because they weren't rationed on sugar and sweets. My gran and her family heard the Germans going over to bomb Belfast and they weny out and listened to the Germans in disguist.
