Albert Victor Ford Aged 16 and Friend c. 1934 in Portsmouth
Albert was born in 1918 and joined St Vincents HMS Portsmouth training establishment as a 16 year old boy sailor. He passed the submarine course on 23rd June 1939 and HMS Triad sank in 1940 in The Helogoland Bight. Attached are scans of the offical sympathy documents from The Captain, Officers and Ship's Company of the Submarine Depot, Fort Blockhouse and the note from the King. Also the official notification form the Captain. There is also a letter from The Cpatin for Commodore notifying Alberts mother (Mrs Nellie Ford) of his death. Finally his certificate of the
The family story is that he went down on a two man sub -but this is not confirmed.
